Enova SF is owned by the Ministry of Petroleum and Energy (MPE). It was established to take a leading role in promoting environmentally friendly restructuring of energy consumption and energy generation in Norway. Enova's goal is to make it easier for public and private enterprises to choose simple, energy-efficient and environmentally correct solutions.
Renewable energy has been an important political topic for a long time. 20-30 years ago there was an increasing realization that the earth’s resources are limited and that the world’s dependency on fossil fuel must be reduced. Today, climate problems are on the summit of the international political agenda.
The Rainmakers is a national concept for children initiated and funded by Enova SF. Enova SF is a public enterprise owned by the Royal Norwegian Ministry of Petroleum and Energy. The goal is to involve and create interest and engagement for the energy subject among children and youngsters. Children taking an active part in their own education is not a new idea, as much as it is the natural way of learning.
Enova SF was officially created on June 22, 2001 and became operational on January 1, 2002. Enova SF is a public enterprise owned by the Royal Norwegian Ministry of Petroleum and Energy. Enova SF's main mission is to contribute to environmentally sound and rational use and production of energy, relying on financial instruments and incentives to stimulate market actors and mechanisms to achieve national energy policy goals.
